RC Houston

DISCOVER WHAT REGNUM CHRISTI HAS TO OFFER IN HOUSTON

The Regnum Christi Houston Locality encompasses a large geographic area, including the Greater Houston area.

We currently have more than 250 active members, organized into sections: Women’s North, Women’s Southwest, Men’s, Young Men, Young Women, ECYD girls, and ECYD boys.

We offer Spiritual Exercises and Triduums of Renewal once a year. We hold Mornings of Reflection, Study Circles, Adoration for Vocations, and other initiatives that help our members and friends to grow in their faith.

We have many ECYD clubs in different locations, and a large group of families participates in Pilgrim Queen of the Family by receiving Our Lady in their homes and praying the rosary.

We are a missionary locality with several opportunities to serve in family missions during Holy Week and throughout the year.

Contact us for more information and to participate in any of our activities. Stay tuned!

Matthieu Billès was born and raised in France and is an Information Systems Engineer. He met his wife in Mexico and got married in 2006; they have 2 sons. In 2012, Matthieu and his family met with Regnum Christi in Villahermosa, Tabasco, Mexico, and were involved with Family Missions and multiple apostolates. Matthieu joined Regnum Christi in March 2019 in a ceremony directed by Fr. John Connor in Houston.

Matthieu was part of the RC Houston locality council from 2020 to 2022 and engaged as Missions director of the Holy Week Missions for the North Houston location from 2019 to 2024.

He served as the Houston Men’s Section director from 2024 to 2026, and was appointed in June 2025 as the Chair of the Local College, governing body of the RC Houston locality.

Finally, Matthieu loves playing music with his sons at home and helps lead the mass choir on Sunday.

Amelia Hoover is from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She joined a discernment program in high school with the Consecrated Women of Regnum Christi. Amelia was consecrated in 2010, studied her Bachelor’s in Religious and Pastoral Studies, and then received her assignment to Washington, D.C. While in D.C., she completed a Youth Ministry Certificate Program through Franciscan University. Amelia served in ECYD for 8 years in the DC area and loved being able to accompany the young women to deep encounters with our Lord and greater confidence in their call to do great things for him. She continues as a mentor and formator for ECYD in Houston. Amelia is now serving as the director of the community of Consecrated Women and is a member of the Houston RC Local College.

Fr. Jason Smith, LC, was ordained a priest at St. Mary Major in Rome on December 23, 2006. Following his ordination, he dedicated six years to youth ministry in the New York Tri-State area. More recently, Fr. Jason served as the local director of Regnum Christi in New York, where he specialized in retreats, spiritual exercises, spiritual direction, marriage preparation, and marriage ministry. He also had the privilege of serving as parochial vicar at the historic Basilica of St. Patrick’s Old Cathedral in Lower Manhattan.

After four years as superior of the Legionary community in Michigan, Fr. Jason moved to Houston in the same role. He holds a bachelor’s degree in philosophy and theology and a Master’s in psychology. Fr. Jason has a variety of personal interests, including photography (with his work featured in several forums), reading poetry, art, running, watching baseball, and enjoying strong coffee. His younger brother, Fr. Aaron Smith, is also a Legionary of Christ priest.
